Nothing that tracks you is set until you choose. This page lists what our website stores on your device, why, for how long, and how to change your mind.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves on your device. Websites can also save information in your browser's local storage, which works in a similar way. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
Some cookies are needed for the website to work. Others help us understand how the website is used, or measure our adverts. The law says we need your permission for those, and we ask for it first.
Your choice: the cookie banner
On your first visit, a banner asks what you would like:
- Accept cookies turns on Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which help us see which pages are useful and measure our adverts.
- Essential only keeps them switched off. The website works just the same.
Until you choose, only the essential items below are used. We remember your choice in your browser, so the banner doesn't come back on every page.

Google may add similar cookies with slightly different names. They are only set after you choose Accept cookies, and they are used for the same purposes.
Essential and functional
These don't track you and don't need your permission, because they only do things you have asked for. One remembers your cookie choice. The other saves your free plan questionnaire on your device so you don't lose your answers, and is cleared once you send it.
Our fonts load from Google Fonts. This doesn't set a cookie, but Google sees your device's IP address when a page loads.
Analytics
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google's tag from Google Tag Manager. It tells us which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and a few actions, such as opening a guide, tapping a call or WhatsApp link, or sending a form. It records the name of the form, never what you typed into it. Google Analytics doesn't store full IP addresses, and we keep its data for 14 months.
Advertising
If you accept, we use the Meta Pixel. It helps us see whether our adverts on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits and enquiries, so we spend less showing them to people who aren't interested. Meta may combine this with what it knows from your own Facebook or Instagram account, under its own privacy policy. You can manage this in your Meta ad settings.
Other websites we link to
Our chat button opens WhatsApp or your text messages, and our booking links open our booking site, Airbnb, or Booking.com. Nothing is stored for them until you tap. Once you are on their websites or apps, their own cookies and privacy policies apply.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time:
- Clear this website's data in your browser settings, usually under Privacy, Cookies or Site data. This removes your choice and any analytics or advertising cookies, and the banner will ask you again on your next visit.
- Or email info@staysin.co.uk and we will help.
You can also block cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. If you block all cookies, our banner may ask for your choice on every visit.
